Psycho Kinetic Time

Psycho Kinetic Time

Effect: David Blaine did this watch trick on his second national TV special. A watch is borrowed, the magician does not carry anything! After showing the watch to those nearby who notice the current time, you place the watch face down in the spectator's hand. His hand is closed over the watch. The magician does not touch the watch again. The magician then asks the spectator to name a number and then to concentrate on that number and the watch. He opens his hand, turns over the watch and sees that the hands of the watch have moved that many minutes ! This watch trick does not require any gimmicks.

Props: Someone wearing an analogue watch ( a watch with an long stem that's easy to manipulate quickly. i.e.: SEIKO watches )

Preparation: You need to wear a watch of your own, set at the wrong time.

Method: Ask your victim for his watch with an excuse like, "I think my time is wrong can I see yours for a second?"

Borrow the watch for a minute and examine it look at it, state what time it has, and say, "Is this the right time, I need to know."

Now glance at the time on YOUR watch, and draw attention to it by setting its time. While they are looking at you setting the time on your watch, your other hand is moving the stem on their watch so that the time on THEIR watch is moved forward 25 minutes. Now have them sandwich their watch between their hands and ask them to pick a number from 10 through 30. Most people will pick 25. If they pick 20, they won't notice it's off by five minutes when you reveal that the hands of their watch have moved forward in time.... If they pick something below that number, tell them to make it harder for you, and pick a higher number. It gets them everytime... just remember to come up with some great patter when doing this trick.

I recommend trying to do this on nervous or shy people as they tend to be more easy to distract and are less suspicious. The key to this watch trick is misdirection, but it's very easy to get caught.

Borrow a watch from the spectator.Focus attention on adjusting your own watch time.Discretely adjust the time on spectators watch, while they are distracted.

1) Borrow spectators watch. 2) Adjust time on your watch 3) Discretely adjust spectators watch

David Blaine Style Voodoo Ash Trick

David Blaine Style Voodoo Ash Trick

Effect: The spectator writes a name on a page in a notepad. The spectator then tears out the page, crumples it up and places it in an ashtray. The paper is set alight and the magician then rubs the ashes on his arm, on which the name written by the spectator, mysteriously appears.

Preparation: You will need a small notepad, pen, ashtray, lighter and a small piece of soap or wax.

Method: The spectator is asked to write either a name or favourite anything of their choice on a notepad. They are then asked to tear out the page, crumple it up and place it in the ashtray. The magician then sets the paper alight. At this point the magician should take the notepad from the spectator. If looked at closely, it should be possible to see an imprint of the spectators written word on the top page of the notepad. ( It should not be made obvious that the magician has been looking at the notepad..) Then subtely, perhaps by using a little misdirection, the word should be written on the magicians arm by himself using the soft soap or wax. ( Again, this action should not be visible or obvious to anyone.)

The magician can then take some of the ashes and rub them on his arm where the ash will stick to the soap or wax and the name become visible to the astonishment of the audience.

This is a great trick but depends o the magician creating an atmosphere with an entertaining routine and patter about black magic to enhance the trick and create misdirection to allow himself an opportunity to pull off the trick.

Magnetic Fingers Trick---- done by david blaine

This trick appears to be like hypnotism - Is your patter good enough to convince them ?

Ask your friend if you could try a little "instant hypnosis" on them. Assure them that it's safe and nothing harmful can or will happen.

Next, ask your friend to fold their hands together, weaving the fingers and clasping them tightly. After a few moments of doing this, tell them to raise their two index (first) fingers so they are sticking up and they should be about an inch apart ("church and steeple" kind of thing).

Now, slowly move your hands over their hands (don't touch their hands) and say, "Your fingers will touch. Try to fight it, but they will still touch!"

Slowly, but inevitably, your friends fingers will start to move together. Tell them to concentrate on their fingers (just ham it up, okay?) and soon their fingers will touch.

This is self-working, but it should still be practiced! It's a great bar trick, to. Have fun!

Ask spectator to put their hands together and link fingers. Point fingers upwards and they will be drawn magnetically together.

1) Spectator closes hands together. 2) Spectators fingers are irresistibly drawn together
